In a recent interview, MacArthur highlighted Ascension's unique geographic advantages, including its access to the mighty Mississippi River, interstate connectivity, and proximity to major cities like Baton Rouge and New Orleans. In 2025, Hyundai Steel announced a game-changing $5.8 billion project at the MegaPark, marking the first steel manufacturing facility outside South Korea for the company. Workforce preparation is another critical aspect. MacArthur points to the planned expansion of River Parishes Community College's Donaldsonville campus as a key step in training workers for the emerging industrial and skilled-trade jobs that will support these incoming projects.
