Christopher Ward's latest creation, the C1 Bel Canto Lumière, is a stunning timepiece that takes the iconic Bel Canto platform to a whole new level. The watch's case, crafted from grade 5 titanium, measures 41mm in diameter and feels premium and well-proportioned. Its brushed surfaces and subtle polishing create a comfortable, tactile, and light feel, making it a joy to wear. The dull grey color of the titanium adds a unique touch, giving the watch a warmer appearance compared to typical steel watches.
The dial of the Lumière is where the real magic happens. It features a smoked sapphire disc at 12 o'clock, topped with a blue Globolight ring, and a linear brushed handset, all tipped with matching Globolight luminescent material. This creates an incredible glowing halo effect, making time-telling a breeze. The main dial plate is finished in a vibrant teal color with a sunburst brushed effect, drawing your focus to the time-telling dial. The application of Super-LumiNova rays in blue and green adds to the out-of-this-world effect, creating a stunning visual light show when the lights go out.
The chiming module, a contemporary feature, upgrades the Sellita SW200-1 base movement to the Christopher Ward FS01 calibre. This automatic movement retains the features we love about the Bel Canto, including a 38-hour power reserve, 4Hz beat rate, and a beautifully simple pusher at 4 o'clock that operates the column wheel, turning the hourly chime on or off.
Christopher Ward's attention to detail extends to the strap design. The Lumière comes with a white rubber strap embedded with Super-LumiNova-impregnated material along its edges, creating a full-wrist glow that matches the dial. For those who prefer a more traditional look, the watch is also available on the Consort and Bader bracelets, finished in grade 2 titanium.
The C1 Bel Canto Lumière is available from Christopher Ward directly or from Time+Tide Watch Discovery Studios from November 13th, 2025. The price varies depending on the strap or bracelet choice: £3,495 for the rubber strap, £3,745 for the Bader bracelet, and £3,815 for the Consort bracelet.
