A passionate Disney enthusiast has raised eyebrows over a significant price discrepancy for the same merchandise available at different theme parks located on opposite sides of the United States. Recently, Disney launched a new collectible sipper cup—essentially a reusable drink vessel—that can be found at both the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California, and the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida. These colorful plastic cups, designed to resemble the beloved alien toys known as Little Green Men from Pixar's classic film Toy Story, hold approximately 15 to 18 ounces of liquid.
These charming novelty cups are sold at select dining locations within each park. However, travel writer Zoë Wood uncovered an astonishing $10 price difference for the same item between the two parks. In her exploration of where to purchase these delightful cups, she noted, "As I looked into where exactly you could find these new delights, I noticed something I had somehow missed before. The pricing is wildly different from coast to coast," as she detailed in her post on the Walt Disney World blog, WDWINFO.
At Woody’s Lunch Box, a popular eatery within Toy Story Land at Disney World’s Hollywood Studios, the Little Green Men Jetpack Sipper is priced at $19.79, which includes a fountain drink of your choice. Additionally, there is a limit of two sippers per customer. In stark contrast, at Disney California Adventure, the identical sipper is offered for a steep $29.79 at Boardwalk Pizza & Pasta in Paradise Gardens Park.
Moreover, the same $29.79 price point applies to the sipper sold at Alien Pizza Planet in Disneyland Park, although attempts by The Independent to verify this price were unsuccessful due to a website outage. As of now, Disney has not responded to inquiries regarding the reasons behind this notable price variation.
It's important to note that these theme parks typically utilize a flexible pricing strategy for ticket sales. Interestingly, while the merchandise prices differ significantly, a ticket to Disneyland generally comes at a lower cost compared to its counterpart at Disney World.
Looking ahead, starting in October 2026, Walt Disney World will increase the prices for single-day tickets, annual passes, and renewals. Those seeking a single-day admission will find the average ticket price rising by around $5. Notably, though, the least expensive single-day ticket to Animal Kingdom—the most affordable of the five parks—will remain at $119.
Conversely, the minimum ticket price for Disneyland is projected to stay at $104, maintaining this rate for the past seven years, despite employee wages more than doubling during that timeframe, according to Disney.
