RMZ Group's $10 Billion Investment: Transforming Andhra Pradesh into a Global Tech Hub (2026)

RMZ Group's $10 Billion Investment in Andhra Pradesh: A Tech and Industrial Revolution

RMZ Group has announced a massive $10 billion investment to transform Andhra Pradesh into a tech and industrial powerhouse. This ambitious plan involves the development of a Global Capability Centre (GCC) Park and a 1 gigawatt hyperscale data centre cluster over the next five to six years. The project, unveiled at the World Economic Forum Summit in Davos, is a joint effort between RMZ Group and the Andhra Pradesh government, aiming to position the state as a leading hub for digital infrastructure, artificial intelligence, and industrial growth.

The GCC Park, to be built in Kapuluppada Phase 1 IT Park in Visakhapatnam, will span 50 acres and offer up to 10 million square feet of space. This dedicated facility is designed to attract global enterprises seeking to establish or expand their technology and operations centres in India. By doing so, it will strengthen Visakhapatnam's reputation as an emerging destination for global capability centres, moving beyond traditional metro hubs.

In parallel, RMZ plans to establish a hyperscale data centre cluster in the Visakhapatnam region, targeting a capacity of up to 1 gigawatt. This project, requiring 500 to 700 acres, will support the growing demand for cloud, digital, and AI-driven workloads. The state government emphasizes the focus on sustainability and green power integration, ensuring energy efficiency and renewable power.

Beyond technology, RMZ's investment includes the development of an Industrial and Logistics Park in Tekulodu, Rayalaseema. This 1,000-acre facility will cater to manufacturing, warehousing, and logistics needs, providing a strong foundation for industrial activity in the region. Together, these projects are projected to create nearly 100,000 jobs across IT services, data centre operations, and industrial segments.

During the Davos meetings, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu discussed potential collaborations with IBM's Arvind Krishna on quantum computing and AI-related initiatives. He also met with Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian to accelerate the proposed Google AI Data Centre in Visakhapatnam. These engagements further highlight the state's commitment to becoming a strategic destination for next-generation digital and industrial infrastructure.

RMZ Group's investment and the state's partnerships with global technology leaders signal a coordinated effort to revolutionize Andhra Pradesh's digital and industrial landscape, offering exciting opportunities for businesses and the local community alike.
