We are pleased to announce Fashion Fusion presented by Austin Fiber Artists and Weaver and Spinners Society of Austin.

This is a great event for Fiber Artists and Weavers in Austin and surrounding communities to view a fabulous fashion show. Fabric artists can also participate by submitting their work, or becoming a vendor at the event. From wearable art, clothing accessories to jewelry, the Fashion Fusion event will have it all!

The event takes place Sat, Sept. 29th at the Balcones Country Club in north Austin at 8600 Balcones Club Drive, Austin, TX. (See Map here.)

In conjunction with a luncheon and fashion show, there is an artisan?s vendor showcase, raffle and a silent auction to complete the day’s activities. (Some items auctioned are business coupons for great products and services.)

The event starts at 9:30 am with the opening of the vendor area. Raffle tickets can be purchased and silent auction bids can be placed throughout the morning.

The luncheon starts at 11:30 with the fashion show parade beginning after the end of the luncheon. Fashion Fusion design and wearable art items will be available for sale after the fashion shows ends.

Want to submit your garments or wearable art for possible inclusion in the fashion show? Deadline is August 1 for submitting your application, fee and fashion plans. (One application per garment submitted with a maximum of four garments, or five total submissions if the fifth submission is yardage for the design challenge).

Do you create fabric, but not wearable’s? Consider participating in the design challenge where a local designer will turn your fabric into a garment or wearable accessory. It is an exciting opportunity to see how other designers would turn your fabric into an art piece!

Ready to purchase your luncheon tickets? Please call 512.847.8784 and the Old Oaks Ranch to purchase the tickets via credit and debit card. Tickets are only $45. Seating assignments will be made on a first come basis. MasterCard and Visa accepted.

Proceeds from Fashion Fusion fashion show and related activities will be used to further the educational efforts of AFA and WSSA. A portion of the money will go into a scholarship fund to support textile arts programs. Another portion of money will be used to bring national and international fiber artists to Austin.
