In honor of Valentine's Day, member Rebecca Switzer will show us how to make puffy woven hearts. These simple but clever little weavings can be decorations or be used to hold little treats or presents. Make them in your two favorite colors!
Member Juliann Krute will lead a dye activity. Traditionally done with soft paper, fabric can also be used to create various mirrored patterns. This May, come to an in-person meeting in south Austin to see and hear about Wendy Mitchel's heroic efforts to save beloved stuffed animals. Wendy runs the Stuff Animal Rescue Foundation, that both repairs and rehomes stuffed animals. See more at her website.
Linda Miles creates items using yarn and punch needles when she isn't quilting. She's been doing it long enough to have a nice collection of pillows and mats to show us, then she will demonstrate how the punch needle works and give tips for creating even and effective work.
